Secondary education in the US is required. Completed secondary education have more than 85% of the US population aged 25 years or older.
Education in the United States is not regulated at the state level. The US government can influence the educational issues only indirectly, by means of advice and financing of various educational programs.
Most children in the US receive free secondary education in public schools (public school), although there are also private schools, and about three percent of the students are engaged in the house (Homeschooling).
Almost all private schools in the United States are ruled by religious organizations such as Catholic schools. As a rule, private schools provide a higher, compared with the public, the level of education. In the US, there are also several specialized private school for gifted children.
