State located on two peninsulas - Lower and Upper, separated by the Straits of Mackinac, a channel width of eight kilometers, connecting Lake Huron and Lake Michigan. Celebrating often that the Lower Peninsula is shaped like mittens. Two peninsula connected by a bridge of Mackinac. The state has the longest freshwater shoreline among the administrative units in the world, it is surrounded by four of the five Great Lakes and Lake St. Clair. In the state there are 64,980 lakes and ponds.
